Our latest version of this barrel aged lager features our Helles Export-style Lager - which we kept unfiltered and without beer finings - lagered for 3 months in medium-toast American Oak Barrels. The result remains dry and crushable, and showcases laters of snickerdoodle and cream soda-like flavors from the time spent on this type of oak.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a pale orange golden with medium white head. The aroma is wheat and floral. Slick body, wheat, citrus, dry, good.

On the afternoon of 26th March 2019 my wife and I tried four flights (of four beers) in the centre section of the Bagby Beer Company in Oceanside, two flights of their own beers and two flights of guests. This is one of those 16 beers. Light haze to the golden pour, white crust on top. A strange one this, not too sure barrel aging light lagers/helles is worth the effort. aroma held a lot more citrus esters than it did oak or any wood notes. The taste also on the citrus side with no real suggestion of aging. It was fine and drinkable but lacked 'oomph'.

On tap at Other Half: pours clear gold with small white head. Aroma is woody and bready. Taste is slightly sweet. Light tree. Mellow but with some complexity.
