Aromas are dark and caramel malts some toast. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose with a lot more going on. A little more bitter than sweet and balanced with just right carbonation. Add in some nutmeats, toffee. Kind of like an ale version of an old fashioned traditional Oktoberfest/Marzen.

On tap (half-pint) at the Mission Ave Bar & Grill, Oceanside, 25th March 2019. Red hue to the amber body, beige head. Malty front to the semi-sweet taste and aroma, toffee and caramel flavours. Just a trace of citrus hoppiness.

Sample at the taproom. Clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually to a film. Short strings of lace. Roast malt, caramel and fruit in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of toasted malt, fruit and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours dark copper with a beige head. Aroma of roasty malt and perhaps a touch of citrus. Med body. Flavor is very roasty malt, not sure about hop, but I’m getting a hint of diacetyl. The finish made me think of coffee. For me this is hard to sort. Too much malt. Tho that’s the style!
