Farmhouse pale ale with blackberries. Hints of spice with the addition of sweet local blackberries make this Belgian-style pale ale with something a little special. The blackberries were grown locally in Fife by our friends at Barnsmuir farm.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head that gradually fades. Faint lacing. Aroma of cranberry, biscuit and fig. Flavour of tea, champagne, lemon and tonic water. Thin body with a spritzy texture. Very fizzy. Incredibly dry but there’s not much flavour.

Bottle at home. Pours deep orange, nose is esters, banana, citrus, taste is sweet, toffee, banana, not really getting brambles.

Re-rate 030216. Appellation Wines. Nice acidity. Light fruit. None of the yoghurt notes of last time. Up 0.6 out of 5.
330ml bottle from Cork & Cask. Pours pale red-tinged gold with a thin white head. Aromas of yoghurt, faint spice. Taste is dry, fruity, but not particularly bramble-like. Malty too. Prickly carbonation, dry finish.

Bottle. Appearance - a lovely orange with an autumnal edge and a nice fluffy head. Nose - wild yeast, yoghurt, warm milk. Taste - not much in the way blackberries, more like red or orange fruit and a bit wild yeast again. Biscuits too. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a dry yeasty finish. Overall - not one of their best. Smells and tastes like a bitter with an unwelcome yeast in there.
