Brooklyn Scorcher IPA is a surprisingly sessionable IPA. A floral, piney aroma strikes first, followed by a burst of mouthwatering bitterness as the hops begin their attack. Suddenly, a hint of toasty malt and a clean, lively finish burst in to leave you thirsty for more. It’s ludicrously tasty, and at a reasonable 4.5%, it’s a beer you can come back to again and again.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - BB BB 24/02/18, from a supermarket, 20171025) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, soap and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was thin and bitter. A unbalanced and thin hoppy brew.

33cl can. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy long-lasting white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is skunky corn cardboard malt, grassy, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery grainy light floral hop palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from Coop. Pours clear golden with a low head. Aroma is citric and floral hops, low pine, quite fresh and green. Body is light and basically only bitter. Some carbonation, thin backbone, watery, almost no sweetness or flavours. Not even particularly dry on the palate to make it easy to drink. The bitterness just stays, and it is not a pleasant one. Okay.

Tap at Redhot. Deep Golden, mellow carbonation, white lace. Fresh grassy and citric hops, cracker malt, medium light mellow body, very fresh and moreish grassy finish - has a distinct franconian pils vibe.

330ml can from Tesco - Hazy yellow, heavy carbonation, bubbly white top. Nose light citrus, some pine notes. Taste has a crisp citrus bite, long bitter finish. Not overly enamored with this.
