Brooklyn Scorcher IPA is a surprisingly sessionable IPA. A floral, piney aroma strikes first, followed by a burst of mouthwatering bitterness as the hops begin their attack. Suddenly, a hint of toasty malt and a clean, lively finish burst in to leave you thirsty for more. It’s ludicrously tasty, and at a reasonable 4.5%, it’s a beer you can come back to again and again.

Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Clear gold colour with a lasting white head. Piney grapefruit hoppy aroma. Very easy drinking. Good hops throughout. Well balanced quite bitter on the finish. I enjoyed it. I liked the piney resiny grapefruit hops. Very sessionable.

Bottled at Sticky Fingers, Göteborg, on May 4, 2017. Had three of them, first since I hadn’t had it before, the rest since it was better for my taste than the remaining (very) small selection.Clear pale golden color, white head. Mild herbal fruity and citrus scent. Taste is a bit more hop potent, citrus and fruity. Rather thin mouthfeel, medium thin or so. Low to medium low bitterness. Easy drinking, refreshing, don’t stand out. Cautious.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Waitrose. Pours crystal clear gold with a frothy, pure white head. The nose holds dried grass, grainy pale malts, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour, fairly dry, a little plain, some rindy bitterness, pine needles, grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more assertive grassy and rindy bitterness, citrus peel, some husky grains. A very, very basic beer. And the bitterness seems a little strong. So so overall.

Clear yellow small white head. Aroma is very fruity , fresh and very aromatic for the abv.flavor is sry very dry hoppy almost like a low alc beer. Still fairly quenching. Yeast probably a bit too much in front. Very quenching and a very good session beer

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is mostly clear light yellow-orange with copious light floaties, minimal sparkle, finger-width white fizzy head with poor retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is mild dank resin, citrus over malt base. Taste is herbs, scallions, resin over cracker malt. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and mix of resin bitter and cracker malt finish. Overall, not getting floral or piney though most of the rest is fairly accurate. Makes more sense as a session than a full IPA but fairly mild all around.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Clear amber, large foamy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of floral, leafy, citrus hops, pale malt with just the faintest bit of toast. The taste is citrusy, green, herbal hops, pale malt. Medium bodied, crisp, lingering bitterness.

Fluffy white head left a good cover a straw coloured body. Lightly fruited aroma with a spicy nose. Very clean on the tongue, fresh & prickly on the back. Dry. A bit thin. Hoppy & bitter with pith, pine & citrus.

355ml bottle from Booths, Penwortham. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Surprising amount of sediment for what I assume is a filtered beer? Aromas of grapefruit, citrus peel, creamy malts. Taste is grassy, light astringent metallic notes. Odd.
