Sampled from the tap at Aces & Ales Tenaya. Pours a clear amber with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some sweet grains and bread with a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has bread and a bit of caramel with a hint of leaves and straw backing.

7th Feb 2017: on a flight at the Long Beach brewery. Copper hue to the amber pour, full head. Malty and semi-sweet with a smouldering peat bog and singed caramel aroma/taste. Liked it.

Sample at the Long Beach brewpub. Pours a copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, malt and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of mildly smoky malt, toffee and earthy hops. The finish is peaty malt and caramel. Decent overall.

Scottish Ale - whatever the fuck that is .. wooo hooo, always the last choice on the tasting flight (or one of them that maybe ties with the wheat shite) and where’s my fucking thistle ?!?!?!? I could leave it there but alas I feel compelled to rate..... Lightly hazed golden amber with a moderate light beige covering that dissipates to edgework. Nose is sweet toffee, biscuit, light smoke, vanilla, spice. Taste comprises much the same, toffee, light spice, biscuit base, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok ... not so bad for this fabrication of a style,,, hurrah the Scoooootish but where was me Thessle?

Backlog from the first batch (I think the most recent batch might be better). Pours with a clear copper hued body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas are of mildly fruity esters, malty, nutty and a touch earthy/musty. Very light smoke. Flavors are hugely malty, toasty, nutty, leather, light melanoidins, medium-low bitter, very dry finish despite the malt. Fuller carbonation.
