On the 9th December 1960, Coronation Street burst onto our small screens courtesy of Granada TV and within six months it had become the most watched programme on television.
Sex, murder, infidelity, suicide, disasters, burglary, addiction abuse aka Coronation Street.
To represent the original first night cast we have chosen Pat Phoenix, as Elsie Tanner ‘the sexiest thing on television’ being glowered at by her programme protagonist Ena Sharples (Violet Carson).
Sadly, Elsie and Ena are no longer with us as we celebrate the longest running soap opera in the world with this English hopped, orange zest beer.
Hops used are Northdown & Target.

Cask at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 9th Jan 2017. Light amber pour, white head. Fruity in nature, like it’s name: a real mixed bowl of fruity esters and flavours, semi-sweet and moorish: very pleasant.
