Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - amber with a light lacy head. Nose - something akin to aniseed or liquorice. Then there’s a molasses dominant note. Taste - more molasses, getting the chestnuts for sure. General nuts. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture. Decent dry-ish finish. Overall - good beer. Difference between nose and taste.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours clear red-brown with a thin white head. Aromas of light aniseed, toffee and nuts. Taste is more of the same. Nice spiciness. Dry finish.

Second beer of the mini-tasting I had with my son on Christmas Day 2016. 6.6% ABV, 500ml bottle conditioned: BBE of Oct 2017. Ruby hue to the body, beige head. Flavour and aroma had a Rye like undertone with roasted chestnut feel that had been dropped in a smoky Peat Bog. Tried to like it.
