Three pints on tap at the Dana Point Board and Brew outlet on Golden Lantern, 2nd June 2015. Nice red hue to the brews looks, a weak, thin head appeared on all three pours. Malt lead to the nose with a semi-sweet caramel feel, taste also malty: good hop balance and a very easy to drink brew (hence the three pints0.

22oz bomber pours with a clear deep copper body that has amber hues and supports a nice looking tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some sweet maltiness laced with hops, sweet crystal malts, malt sweetened citrus hops and a bit of spicy Belgian yeast amid a fruity ester like note. The taste has a modest malt sweetness and sweet crystal malt notes but the hops are where it’s at. I get a good dose of bitter floral and earthy tea hops as well as resiny pine that flow quickly into spicy Belgian yeast. To midway as the earthy almost dank tea mix builds a modest grapefruit bitter hop note comes to the surface and helps bring this to the finish. Good stuff.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours sort of dark copper with a white head. Floral hop aroma. Med body or better. Some fruity esters, some darker malt. The fruit is somewhat dark. Yeast and spice develop. It’s really pretty good.
