Hand-pulled pint into a UK pint sleeve in The Crown Inn, Oakengates: 19th Nov 13. Good amber/brown body with an off-white covering on top. The pump clip mentioned ’a traditional English Hedgerow fruit aroma’, well I could only think of crisp packets, fag ends and other litter as being the usual hedgerow fruits these days: luckily it didn’t smell of any of those thoughts. The aroma was in fact a slightly malty, dark fruity smell, this carried on into the taste which was predominately malty, it finished dry and mildly hoppy. Good body feel and overall not bad at all.
