As England’s Mistletoe Capital, Tenbury Wells is all set to offer a month-long calendar of events; and local pubs, restaurants and theatres now have a special edition beer to celebrate the season.
At Hobsons Brewery we have crafted a real ale, aptly named "KISS ME NOW" and for every pint sold, a 5p donation will be made to The Tenbury Mistletoe Association, to support their work.
KISS ME NOW will only be available on cask in the North Worcestershire and South Shropshire area during December 2012. To honour the virgin mistletoe and provide a perfect accompaniment to seasonal fayre, the new 4.2% abv pale ale is full of hop flavour and brewed with Chinnock and Hersbrucker hops to give strong floral and citrus characteristics.

Cask: hand-pulled pint in ’The Wrekin’, a local pub (11th Dec 2012). Light golden and clear body: smooth, white crown which produced some heavy lacing on the UK pint sleeve it was poured into. This is an un-complicated brew with an easy blend of flavours: the hops just about winning the taste and aroma stakes. Floral hop nose with a semi-sweet initial taste followed by a mild hop bitter finish. Not the greatest Hobson’s beer by a long way. I was expecting something a bit more ’Christmassy’ and spiced up, not an almost bland offering.
