Cask at the pig’s ear fest 2013. Aroma is dry woody roast with a touch of choc. Dark chesnut red pour with no head. Flavour us fruity English berry esters and dry smooth woody roast. Medium body touch too flat.

Hand-pulled half pint at the Shrewsbury Beer Festival: 1st Nov 2012. Proper dark body with a thin white topping and thicker collar, looked like a vicar! The nose was malty and liquorice, with dark chocolate and coffee coming through as well. The taste was also liquorice, chocolate and coffee: this stout is dry from the off, it has a bitterness that keeps the malts sweetness in check very well and although the brew is too strong malt wise for the hops to really assert themselves in the aroma and taste they certainly play their part in making this a very drinkable stout indeed.
