Hand-pulled pint in The Wellington, Birmingham on 18th sep 2012. This amber beer with its off-white head gave off a semi-sweet malty molasses aroma and the taste followed those smells: this is malts 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the hops are there to stop the brew becoming too sweet and to give a mini-bitterness in the finish. Although I enjoyed the flavours; this could have been almost any of Salamanders 150 plus specials, they must surely just tweak a basic boil to produce so many different beers.
