22nd Feb 2012: Hand pulled pint in ‘The White Hart’, Shifnal, Shropshire. This annual Valentines Day beer from one of my favourite brewers is a mid-range amber colour and has an off-white head (like almost all of Holdens brews). The nose leans towards a malty caramel and toffee smell with a mini floral hop content as the beer warms in the glass. The taste follows the aromas: malty front with a mildly hop bitterness in the finish. Good, but not good enough to crave a second pint on this occasion.
