21st Aug 2010: Brown 500ml bottle, just past its best before date (lot 3305, best before Aug 2010). Poured into my ’La Chouffe’ tulip glass, three times: Pale amber colour, clean and bright, large off-white head sat on top of all three pours. Although the beer has Fuggles, Progress, Challenger and Cascade hops with Syrian added late you’d never have guessed by the smell, very little hop aromas came out of the glass. The hops do appear in the taste though along with Pale, Cystal and Amber Malts, which blend nicely with Malted Wheat to make a well balanced easy drinking English Bitter. No world beater, but a pleasant bottled bitter.

Bottled (BB 08/2010)
Clear amber color, small white head. Caramelly, pale malty, a bit citrus hoppy and grainy nose. Medium-bodied, reasonably good for this abv. A bit sweetish, citrusy hoppy, pale malty flavor. Nothing special but amazingly tasty for being just 3.8%.

Bottled (thanks hanniku!). Pale amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some caramel malts, mild grass. Flavour is fruits, wood, caramel, some grass and mild notes of toffee.
