More tart than sour (think Misére au Borinage & Empirium), Aureum is a blended ale that incorporates beer aged in oak barrels with a mixed house culture and beer aged in oak puncheons on peaches. Label design by our friend Ryan @spiritofgoodliving

Poured at Shelton Festival, cloudy yellow with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is peach flesh, oak, lemon. Thin body, peach, light oak, funky, nice tartness, enjoyed this.

Tap. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is peach, pineapples, white wine funk, some oak. Taste is peach, mandarines, vineous, tannic, with a strong funk character, very bright. Medium carbonation. Beautiful!

Shared by Pruf. Thick golden, head dies. Aroma is strong with spikey tart tropical fruits. Lots of overly sharp aromas but also enjoyable fuzzy peach fruit. Flavor is spikey fuzzy fruit. But it’s too spikey and not centered fruitiness. Maybe too wild, which is often my concern with these saisons.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice barnyard funk quality with a ton of peaches wonderfully mixed in. Flavour brings out lots of peaches upfront, followed medium acidity, with medium tartness. Nicely constructed and well-balanced though a tad too acidic for my liking. Still, very good.

Draft pour at the Holy Mountain release party. Probably the most intriguing beer they have released to this day when it comes to my personal taste. Pale golden pour with a disappearing head. No specific defined fruit aroma, but tart to a near maximum level. Flavor is tart peach and tangerine up front, with an evolving sour element. A late kick of straw grains, but doesn’t stand a chance to overpower the peach. This is ultimately what I look for in a sour. Good fruit content. A dominant tart. Stands up with the giants of the style.
