Bottle @ benzai. Dark amber to ruby colour with a very small off-white head. Smells pine, deep hops, sweet, barley wine. Tastes sweetish, loads of pine, malty, some hops, deep. Full body, soft carbo.

2009 bottle. Pours a cloudy deep brown with a slight amber hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of grain and bread with a bit of caramel, toffee and booze underlying. Flavor has lots of toffee and sweet grains with a bit of bread and underlying caramel and a touch of booze.

22oz bomber. Picked up 4 of them at 4.99 each..can’t beat that. Deep mahogany brown body, looks filtered. Foamy beige heads fades into a thin oily layer. Woody alcohol soaked amber malt. Rich and rugged, thick old school US Barleywine. Overbearing. Not really that drinkable, more of a slow sipper. OK.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 1/06/13.
She pours a deep dark brown color and leaves the same colored body with a slim half fingered white foamy head that tries to dies but maintains a degree of trying to cling its best of clinging to the glass. In other words, there really isn’t much lacing and the body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising.
The smell is mostly caramel flavored hops with a sort of bubblegum-esque sort of thing going on, I actually like how this combines (call me weird, but if I had a better trained nose, maybe I’d figure out what is really going on here), can I just say very sweet.
The taste is sweet, ok, more than sweet, ok, exceptionally sweet, but still, there’s a degree of an oily raisinous flavoring coating the mouth. The aftertaste is somewhat of a sweet oily sort of alcohol-ness but coming through in a pretty good manner.
The palate is about a medium to heavy, not sessionable - this one is a sipper (don’t gulp -you’re stupid if you do). Carbonation actually feels somewhat smooth for the most part.
Overall, wow, what a good American Barleywine that I would have again.

Draft - Raisins, nuts, vinous barrel notes and a bit of dark sugar. Clear dark amber with a thin light brown head. Caramel, chocolate, red grape and some brown sugar. Finishes with some slight bitterness. Very smooth and flavourful.

Great balanced BW. I've only had aged ones before as this is the first time the bombers have showed up in Casper. These really shine after

Bottle sampled at a tasting. From notes. 2008 vintage. Boozy in a good way, with vanilla, caramel, dark fruits and a little oak. Pretty darn awesome.

Wow, very English like with its Port flavour, massive caramel malt, some oxidation but tolerable. Decent carbonation. Yummy!
