Distant Sun is a vibrant yet dark Black IPA, where the the dark chocolate and sun-dried coffee notes of roasted malt intertwines luxuriously with a deep grapefruit hoppiness and the most gentle underlying hint of the tropics.

Can from lowcostbeer, consumed 1 week past BBE. Pours black with moderate sized beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, light coffee notes, some green and floral hop. Taste is very roasty with coffee bitterness, tangy blackcurrant, flora, pine resin. Medium bodied, semi-dry. Not the most hoppy for the style. Its halfway between a stout and a Black IPA. Good beer though.

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. 20 days beyond the best before. Pours dark brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of liquorice, coffee, faint citrus. Taste has cocoa powder, dried mango. Bitter finish.

Large foamy tan head on a near black body.alt, demerara & toffee aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a clean back. Pine, liquorice, bitter & malt tastes with a tangy hoppy finish. Good one.

Can at home. Jet black with a thick tan head. Aroma and taste are roasted coffee and bitter malty. Full body.

Can from Tramline Liquor at home. Cola brown pour with fine light brown cream head. Aroma is sharp burnt coffee and chocolate with some pine underneath. Not bad. Taste is more sharp and roasty. May not be that fresh (BBD 1/2022). Palate has a nice creaminess.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Roast, piney and slightly vegetal hops, some coffee, a bit sweetish, burnt and green bitter finish.

330 ml can. Murky dark brown black with a creamy stable mocha colored head. Toasted malt and bread, caramel and toffee, crisp grapefruity hoppy notes, loads of pine, cocoa, cigar, vanilla, lemon, earthy. Crisp hoppy bitterness, slightly sweet and slightly citrussy sourness. Full bodied, oily creamy texture, soft to lively carbonated, dry hoppy bitter roasty finish. Really great, very complex and balanced!
