Sweet, husky, has a vague nutty, chocolatey character. It’s ok but the huskiness is an issue for me.

Tap. Muddy brown color with small head. Aroma is old coffee, earthy, some chocolate. Taste is coffee, earthy, chocolate, nutty. Medium carbonation. The only halfway decent beer of this brewery so far.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is spice, cocoa, roast. Medium body, licorice, roast, smoke finish, good.

On tap at Peddler, pours a dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Nose brings out winter spices, with notes of toffee and caramel. Flavour is similar, like a nice winter warmer should be, with toffee, vanilla, caramel, herbal notes and spices. Well-balanced, with a medium-full, lightly spicy body. Good stuff.
