Spezial Hell is pleasantly tangy with a full, round malt body that cannot fail to fascinate. The soft flavour carries a distinctive balance of sweet accents and bitter hoppiness.
It concludes on equally soft malty nuances – a classical festival beer in the tradition of old Bavarian brewing (13.5% original extract and 5.9% alcohol by volume).

500ml bottle from Beer Merchants. Pours clear gold with a good white head. Sweet aroma. Taste is beautifully sweet and delicious, with soft buttery citrus and some floral notes. A really good helles!

Good clarity in this soft, blonde colored beer with some deeper golden hues and a large white head that shows strong retention.
Baked bread, baguette and very light sourdough-like grains in the nose are fresh and complex. Light herbs bring up the rear and don’t really come out too prominently, but as the beer is well-attenuated and nicely balanced, it dosent need a ton of hop bitterness to balance. A bit of plaster, dough, fresh vanilla and such can be gleaned from the yeast/water, as with their other beers and is no less charming here. More fruitiness from the hops with warming, but even at the bottom of the glass, the beer never gets too sweet in aroma or flavor.
The sweetness is certainly tempered but throughout the beer maintains a malty edge. Fresh dough, nectarines and yellow cherries sit in the background to honey, baguette and fresh, spicy herbs. Good carbonation level and a richly malted texture that still allows for great drinkability. An all-around amazing beer and if they weren’t charging so god damned much for it ($18 for a liter), I’d drink it much more often.

Pale golden colored, moderate strong white head. Aroma is malt, grains, bit butter some herbal hops. Taste is low to moderate sweet malt, grains, again bit of buttery notes, medium- herbal bitterness. Dry finish with some alcohol present. Low to medium bodied and moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours light yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is light malts with bread, toffee and honey, as well as nice whiffs of grassy hops. Light to medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is crisp, zesty hops, and light roasted malts with bread, cereal and hay. Crisp, grassy hops, with nice malty honey in the finish.

0,5 l bottle. Clear golden in the glass, big white foamy head. Looking good! Sour grassy on the nose. Taste is grainy, little bit sweetness, crisp, pleasant hop bitterness, mid carbonated. Nice one!
