Dark brown to black colour with a tight knit tan foam. Highly aromatic and malt forward ; aroma and flavours of chocolate, caramel, biscuit, and bread. Mouthfeel is full bodied, soft, round, silky. Low to moderate carbonation, balanced soft bitterness finishing lightly sweet with a hint of toasty malt dryness.

Can from Beer 52. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a generous but transient frothy beige head. Aroma is mainly roasted malts with a touch of dark fruits. Thick slightly sweet creamy malts in the mouth, plus vanilla, chocolate and herbs. Liquorice comes through strongly later on. Finish is quite bitter. A decent solid easy to drink porter.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy black pour with a ring of beige head; aroma of roasted malts with a touch of purple fruit; rather austere malty taste, dry and toasty; and sharp woody bitterness before a fruity finish. A solid porter.

Thin beige head left a cover on a dark brown still body. Sweet, herbal & liquorice aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, soft & tingly on the back with a cloying aft. Liquorice, malt, sweet dark berries & coffee tastes with a bitter finish. Excellent.
