Cloudy deep brown. Small ivory head. Average lacing. Aroma: blueberry jam, maple syrup, toasted malts, dried fruit. Light plus body. The taste follows the aroma. The flavourings have affected the stout too much. Not the greatest balance.

Aroma is rather sweet with raspberry juice and sugary tones. Flavour has sweet malt, some raspberry juice and licorice. Finishes with ash and maple syrup. Interesting, not sure what to think about this; sweet but not in a disturbing way. Then again, drinkability is not that great.

Black colored, small beige head, non lasting. Aroma is of roasted malt, dark chocolate and mostly blueberry aroma, bit maple, some lactose. Taste is medium+ sweet maple, malt, dark malt and chocolate, blueberries, bit artificial, lactose. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily to creamy.

Opaque deep brown colour, small but steady creamy tan head. Intense aroma, roasted malt, blueberries, maple syrup, coffee, liquorice. Taste light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malt, blueberries, black currant, maple syrup, cold coffee. Medium body, sticky to oily texture, average carbonation, clean sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, fruity, spicy notes. No cloying sweetness, very good sweet stout.

Maple syrup- and blueberry-flavoured stout from this Michigan craft brewery, bottle from Beergium shared with Goedele. Thinnish, creamy, pale yellowish beige, opening head lacing in dots over a black beer with a thin mahogany, hazy edge. Expressive, desserty, sweet nose with a very strong maple syrup effect, blueberry jam, toffee (‘Chocotoff’ candy), milk chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco, coffee liqueur, muscovado sugar, treacle, cola, subtle hints of camphor and tea. Sweet as expected, utterly syrupy with a very dominant maple syrup flavour as well as blueberry jam, notes of candied fig and very light gravy-like umami, soft car, oily, sticky mouthfeel. Caramelly and milk-chocolatey maltiness with a coffeeish accent, effect of coffee cream in the end, but not to the point of becoming ‘pastry stout’ entirely: a spicy, leathery, peppery hop effect provides end bitterness that tries to counterbalance the overall syrupy sweetness, with aromatic, again almost camphor-like notes. Weird, unusual and original kind of sweet stout with pastry stout features, interesting and different, but one is enough for me.

Bottle @ TwoBeers, Bremen. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, heavy blueberries and maple syrup. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Soft. 151218

355 ml bottle. Murky black with small cappuccino coloured head. A lot of blueberries and jam, maple, roasted breadcrumps, liquorice, caramel and brown sugar. Malty sweetness, little herbal bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft to light carbonated, sticky mouthfeel, herbal bitter finish. Nice aroma, but lacks in depth.
