Belhaven Black Scottish Stout really is something completely different. Bursting with roast coffee and chocolate flavours, this is a truly genuine and premium pint. Brewed using pure Scottish water and a unique blend of Scottish triple malts sourced from the finest locally grown barley.

440ml tall can. Pours a wonderful nitro topped clear black. Aroma is dark roast malts. Beer is light as per the ABV and the flavour is simple dark roast malts with a hint of hop bitterness. This is true to the label, "smooth velvet" aided by the nitro it is a simple and very easy to drink stout, almost a quaffing stout.
Excellent when you want a light & lower ABV dark beer.

Black pour, with ruby hues, and a small white head. Sweet malty aroma, nice roasted malts, sweet caramels, and some nice cereals. Lively carb, some body. A nice sweet roasty amlt finish, with a medium bitterness, and some subtle piney hops.

Bottiglia.

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com. My first Belhaven beer surprisingly. Pours near black with small beige head. Roasted dark malt aroma, some licorice and sweet caramel. Not complex taste wise - dark malts and caramel to start, powdery chocolate comes in with light licorice leading to a semi-dry finish. Light bodied, easy drinking, good session quality. Decent.

Poured from 440mL nitro can (bb 25 Apr 2025). Very dark brown with creamy nitro light beige head. Oaty, mild cocoa, light toasted malt, thin creamy texture. Flavour is okay, but it's a bit thin.
