Belhaven Black Scottish Stout really is something completely different. Bursting with roast coffee and chocolate flavours, this is a truly genuine and premium pint. Brewed using pure Scottish water and a unique blend of Scottish triple malts sourced from the finest locally grown barley.
Belhaven Black was launched across the UK on 23rd January 2012. A day of Scottish pride indeed. Bottles will be available in your local supermarket from April 2012.

Ah apparently a nitro stout. The widget didn't cause much head though: about 2mm. Apart from that a nice smooth stout: not as flavoursome as Guinness. Not a very strong nose: hints of liquorice, dark malts, very vague chocolate. Not much present in the mouth. Swishing it in mouth brings malt out, but hops remain elusive. Drinkable but too ineffectual.

Can. Pours dark cola brown with medium creamy off-white head. Aroma is intense roasted malt, peated malt, caramel, fudge, raisins, prunes, oak and dried tobacco. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is creamy with faint carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of roasted malt, peated malt, toffee, raisins and hints of campfire smoke.
