We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of intense citrus notes with light bitter flavors. Taste is dominated by intense citrus hops flavors with light piney notes and some residual sugar. Some bitterness is discernable. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed but doesn’t really stands out from the pack and a bit too much bitterness for my taste.

Bottle from Supervalu, Longford [140515]
Amber, slight haze, frothy white head
Aroma of mellow herbal hops, soft zest, soft sweet malts, orange resin, bit grassy
Taste of herbal hops, bit grassy, sweet malts, some earthy English hops, zest, definitely a mix of US / UK hops in there
Palate - Soft carb, medium to full body, light sweet, alcohol quite noticeable. Finish of bitter herbs, zest hops, bit of drying alcohol
Overall - Well made beer, but I’m not all that keen on the flavour profile of the hops

355ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours hazy amber. Sweet pine aroma. Taste is orangey, resinous but nowhere near as hoppy as I thought it would be. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

Medium offwhite head. Slightly hazy amber body with light carbonation. Citric pineapple aroma. Not really a great fan of that. Sweet resiny fruity pineapple taste with mealy notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish resiny minty pineapple aftertaste with spicy fruity notes. Tastes much better than the aroma. (0.355l bottle, I forget where from.)

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy gold, thin white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, grapefruit, juicy fruit chewing gum. Taste is more juicy tropicalia, pink grapefruit juice, light malt at the back. Medium body, very oily texture. Chalky bite at the end. Very nice.

Men eftersmaken klingar ut fint.
