We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Bottle. Pale amber with an inch of white head. Hoppy aroma, but ethereally so for this kind of thing - floral and zesty citrus (mandarin, grapefruit), peach, honeyed hay. Medium bodied, a little creamy. Hay, peach - no caramel - floaty floral and citrus notes. Some pineapple. Dry with insistent bitterness. Some pine as well as citrus (bitter orange, lime leaf) in the long finish. Fine drop - comes across as determined to show that you can do a big hoppy pale ale and class it up a bit. And succeeds.

0.355l bottle. Smells really nice this. Lots of piney, birchy dark branchy bitter goodness with citrus, orange zest bitterness, blood oranges, some sulfur thingy and ripe yeasty fruits. It looks quite nice also with a cloudy almost glowing deep orange colored body under a big superbly lacing off-white. Lots of flavor also. I get that dry licorice thing that oh so many double ipas gives me in the first sip. Almost like white licorice, and often when I get that I really like the beer. It's quite piney and orange-citrussy. Feels thick and oily in the mouth and the carbonation is just about spot on. Quite nice to drink this. Some ripe fruity thing towards the finish. Almost like yeast and it's leaving a hoppy and fruity aftertaste. Yeah, a solid one indeed! 20.06.2014

Deutlich hopfiger Antrunk, bei dem die Trockenheit nicht stört. Blumig, bitter grasig mit Alkoholtouch. Etwas klebrig, frisch hopfig genau im richtigen Maße. Gutes IIPA! 11/12/12/12//12

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden with a fairly big off white head. Aroma is orange peel, spruce, peaches, and black currants, as well as nice roasted malts with caramel, bread, kandi, honey and wood. Creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter with spruce and resin, apricots and lychee, as well as roasted malts with bread and toffee. Bitter resinous finish.

355ml bottle from Bier-Deluxe

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of malts, caramel, toffee and ripe fruitiness. Taste is sweet, malty and caramely with some ripe fruity notes, toffee and hops. Finish is hoppy, bitter and sweetish with some caramely maltiness. Okay, pretty heavy DIPA.

An orange colour, a head is medium and blond. Aroma is good and based on the aromatic and tropical fruits. Mangos, grapefruits, some fructose. Taste has citrusfruits, grapefruits, some caramell and hint of dill. At least medium bitterness that is quite smooth and evolves slowly. Not too sweet but not even close to dry. Medium+ bodied, nice and quite strong carbonation to lightening the palate. Good balance and enjoyability are the best parts of this DIPA.

35,5 cl bottle @ home, BBE 10/2014
Aroma is fruity and sweetish with pineapples and citrus. Also some malty tones and hints of peaches. Flavour has gluey tones, grapefruit, some citrus, caramel and heavy malty tones. Aroma was promising but flavour is a bit off.
