Altbier is the traditional beer of Düsseldorf, Germany. Copper-amber in colour , it's smooth, malty, and exceptionally well-balanced. Unlike typical ales, Altbier is fermented at cooler temperatures, giving it a cleaner, crisper finish. Though rarely found outside Düsseldorf, within the city's pubs it remains the beer of choice, often the only one served.

(Can) Pours clear deep brown with modest loose off-white head. Good aroma - toffee, notes of toast. Medium body with bright carbonation. Great taste. There’s a backbone of dark toffee throughout the palate and then there’s quite a dramatic transformation to a great bitter finish. There are some herbal notes and dark berry hints at the start. Very good.

Can. Unclear brown with a good inch of off white head that lasts pretty well. Toasty aroma with some toffee, spices, some grass. 7+ A little more than light bodied. A little sweetness with breadcrust before a decisive spicy bitter kick. Another highly accomplished beer from what must already be close to Australia's best brewery.
