Dark, smooth, delicious. Aromas of worn leather and cool autumn nights. Notes of sweet plum and toasted raisin, hints of coffee and cacao. Lingering tart and refreshing finish. Only available for a few short months. Not to be missed!

Tap at Ashley’s. Poured a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma was a bit faint with dark notes and sour grapes. Flavor was dark with a nice tart taste and dry finish.

Bottle courtesy of Greg at Birreria Paradiso. Batch 340 of 341. Pours dark clear brown with a light tan head. Brett aroma with a gradually appearing sour grapes flavor. Very dry, nicely must. Very nice indeed, subtler than its Belgian cousins.

Pour is a black with a small white head. Aroma is lots of funk with some berry and liquorice. Flavor is some earth and oak with a cherry and molasses. Finish is sour and very tart. Probably not a saison but more of a sour ale than anything. Still this is a tasty beer and one that has something different happining in each sip.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, citrus, spices, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, roasted malt, brettanomyces, spices, and berries, leading to a somewhat tart finish. Thanks to my secret well-do’er in Hood RIver.

Ruby brown with a lasting off-white head. Lots of breet and a little milk chocolate in the nose, along with some caramel and fruit. Dry and slightly tart with a spicy finish. A little watery in the flavour? A rare disappointment from my current favourite American brewery.
