Dark, smooth, delicious. Aromas of worn leather and cool autumn nights. Notes of sweet plum and toasted raisin, hints of coffee and cacao. Lingering tart and refreshing finish. Only available for a few short months. Not to be missed!

Bottled. Nose of chocolate and spice cookies. Cloudy brown-orange color with a huge airy head. Dry, bready flavor, chocolate, caramel, spices, grass. dry, light, interesting, yet not completely convincing. No where near as good as the blonde version.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with a big creamy head. Aroma is tart yeast with dark fruit and berries, brett and funk, as well as some sweet tobacco and vanilla. Full creamy body with average carbonation. Flavour is tart yeast, brett and berries, as well as a quite solid roasted malt backbone with bread and coffee. Lingering dry finish.

Bottle, 75cl. Batch 22. Opens with a bang, but it’s no gusher. It pours an auburn, hazy body and a big, creamy, off-white head that collapses into finger-thick height. The aroma is sort of reminiscent of strawberries at first, but then there’s roasted malts, some prune hints and a good dash of funk. It is quite effervescent on the palate, dry and perhaps a bit thin. There’s orange zest, leather, roasted malts and dried fruits in the flavor, almost no sweetness. Lasting light roasted, funky and citrus peel-ish finish. Too carbonated this one, but it’s quenching and tasteful anyway. 140622

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a dark brown body with red tinges at the edges, one finger white foamy head that dies a bit leaving some concave lacing, super foamy all around as I had to hold the bottle over the sink so not to waste any of it as it tried to spill over.
The smell had a tart funkiness up front with an earthy/musty woody yet sour cherry (this is a saison, huh, ok, smells closer to a wild ale), ok, no worries, Ill proceed.
The taste is extremely tart/sour/ and funky with the same earthy/musty/woodiness.
On the palate, it sits about a medium, though a lower ABV-ed beer - not feeling the love of decent drinkability - probably one and done; tart, yet sweet aftertaste, sticky finish.
Overall, I don’t see myself consuming this again.

Bottle shared at GBBF 2013 - London. Many thanks to the kind fella who shared it! Pours cloudy brown with a large, tan foam head. Tangy brown bread in the nose with relaxed brett character and hints of apple. Light sweet flavour with dry bread, mild toasted dough, soft tangy and dried fruits. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Clean finish with dry and lightly doughy brown bread, along with subtle fruits. Very good balance.
