Our Double Barrel Toasted Barrel Stout was aged for one year in Elijah Craig’s Small Batch Bourbon Barrels, then another year in Elijah Craig Toasted Bourbon Barrels. These toasted barrels are built to the same specifications as normal bourbon barrels but are more heavily toasted and very lightly charred. Not only does this stout embody distinctive elements from Elijah Craig’s award-winning Small Batch Bourbon Barrels—like warm spice & vanilla—it also deepened in intensity during its second year of aging. The result? A Bourbon County Stout unlike any before. In addition to the familiar chocolate, caramel, and vanilla comes flavors of toasted marshmallow and a very pronounced fruit and oak finish. Bourbon County Double Barrel Toasted Barrel Stout has a rich complexity and flavor only attainable through true craftsmanship, partnership, expert blending, and, of course, patience. This is only the second time we have packaged a “Double Barrel” Bourbon County Stout —and trust us, you’ll want to get your hands on this special limited-edition gem.

Dark brown. No head. The aroma has chocolate, some bourbon, nuts. On the palate, there's a touch of acidity, but it lends balance. The malts are rich, the barrel treatment is complex, with lots of flavour, especially bourbon and char. Nice alcohol warmth in the finish, it's got some power but again very well balanced with the rich sugars.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a nice bourbon barrel character, with toasted oak, and a hint of molasses. Flavour is very complex, with lots of complex bourbon barrels, some charred oak, some molasses, booze, and just enough residual sweetness. It's less sweet than regular BCS, likely attenuated or overshadowed by the additional barrel and/or booze presence. Really lovely.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2022. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has an oaky toast with a good amount of roast, chocolate and dark grains backing. Flavor has a bit more of a sweet dark grain and light roast with some toasted barrel and bourbon supporting.

Fles geprobeerd met Keukeman en Benzai op een tasting bij Addictee2craftBeer. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier. Het heeft een aroma van bourbon. De smaak is vol, bourbon achtig en warm.

Pours black with a small brownish head, not much retention. Aroma's: bourbon, boozy, oak wood, tannines, toast, roast. Retronasal it's bourbon, sweet, oak wood, tannines, vanilla, boozy. Flavour is sweet, fudge. Alcohol feels hot, still the mouthfeel is very smooth. Prickly carbonation. Medium full bodied. Long finish, boozy, sweet, caramel, light roast. Delicious.

500ml bottle. Smooth, slightly roasty and heavy with barrel notes, bourbon, vanilla, coconut and hints of stingy alcohol. Pretty balanced and tasty with barrel notes

A lot of chocolate and caramel here, some barrel oak, but not overwhelming. Soft. Smooth and creamy.

Toasted malts, roasted, chocolate, cacao, Bourbon, sharp, cinnamon, alcoholic, i’d rather like it slightly less sharp. And alcoholic also.
