A stout that captures the flavour of our favourite biscuit with coffee, Biscoff. We used a variety of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger to get the flavour we wanted, then fluffed it out with some oats for a fuller body and cocoa powder for dark chocolate notes.

Keg at Brewdog in Reading. One-third pint shared with Finn. Almost black in the glass, lacing rings down the glass. Moderate smell of cinnamon of slightly roasted malts. Spiced mid-sweet malty flavours, cinnamon up front, a note of cocoa. Spiced malty end as well, mid-sweet. Pretty alright in smaller amounts like this little glass. (19.11.2021).

Keg at Brewdog Paddington, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, meaty taste/aroma. Hint of chocolate. Found this hard going.

Can from Garson Farm Shop, West End. Aroma has dark chocolate, berries, liquorice and malty biscuits. Dark. Glossy. Opaque light cola brown in the light. Thick foamy beige head. Light-medium sour. A hint of bitterness and spicy core. Gingerbread. Berries. Malty chocolate. Light-medium bodied. Creamy, admittedly watered-down. Fizzy carbonation. Nice enough. Perhaps a generous score. The name could have been more specific... gingerbread Stout would sum it up.

Delt med Rune. Svart. Mokkafarget filmskum. Litt lacing. Aroma av kakao & sjokolade. + mye krydder. Smaken pepperkaker. Bare det. Uvariert. Kunne fungert som juleøl.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft. Pours clear, deep brown with a big, creamy beige head. Lightly sweet with soft roast, big dry cinnamon character, subtle cocoa and nutmeg, slight berry tang. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more pronounced cinnamon, vague dry cocoa, tangy raisins. Not bad in a wintery adjunct kind of way. This would fit right in at Pigs Ear.
