Thick, viscous and Intense. Beautiful roasted flavours of chocolate, toast, and coffee that come from a 2-hour boil.

Tried at the Hackney church brewery. Jet black colour with a tan head. Aroma and taste are roasted malty and slight Smokey. Full smooth body.

1/3 pint, tap, shared with Finn at Hackney Church Brew. A remaining, but low tan coloured head, pitch black in the glass, clingy lacing. Attractive aromas of roasted, oaky black malts. Rich dark malt-driven flavours, fine blend of coffee and chocolate joined by impacts of dark fruits and liquorice. Roasted, mid-sweet, black malty long tail warming down the swallow. Excellent sipper. (London 17.11.2021).

Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt lysebrunt skum som daler sakte. Aroma av røstet malt & sjokolade. Smaken melkesjokolade. Røstet malt & vanilje etter hvert. Varmende. Kakao i avslutninga.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from the brewery. Pours deep brown-black with a dense, creamy beige head. Moderately sweet, lots of rich dark mats, bittersweet chocolate, ash, dark fruits, earth, espresso. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, further ashy roast, scorched earth, baking cocoa, fresh coffee. This one grew on me. It’s a lovely showcase of dark malts. Great stuff.
