Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at Duke of Wellington. Bubbles on the surface of a near-black body, faint lacing. Roasted, mid-sweet malty smell. Malt-driven taste of chocolate malts, earth, and a note of smoke, together with some dark berries beneath. Mid-sweet malty ending, slightly roasted. Pretty fair. (Norwich 11.11.2021).

Delt med Rune.Ultramørkebrun/svart. Skumring med litt farge. Blir fort borte. Metallisk lakrisaroma. Smaken lettrøkt bacon. Bra - men uvariert.

23/7/2020. Cask at The Duke Of York, Ipswich. Pours mid to dark brown with a small creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, light roasted malt, caramel, touch of nut, berry and dried fruit. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate bitterness, soft carbonation. Enjoyed a couple of pints of this.

Cask gravity at Kent & East Sussex Railway BF 2016. Very deep brown. Ruby. Lasting beige head. Satisfying dark beer. None of the sourness FatPhil had. Rather a good dark bitter premium bitter peppey hop finish. English hops. Good. Just my kind of English premium bitter sweet fruity malt then a lasting white and black pepper hop finish. Solid.
