Bottle. Golden red chestnut, offwhite caramel cream. Roast malt, christmas spices (cinnamon, allspice) and leafy hop aroma. Mellow chewy body, on the fresh drinkable side: Spicy roast, restrained sugar, slight alcohol burn, good broad leafy and aromatic hops, honey retronasal. Pleasant and dangerously drinkable strong Doppelbock.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, but not black, small head. Alcoholic aroma. Starts strong, a bit alcoholic, malty, not too roasty. Some fruity hints of raisins and plum. Finish drier, still a bit alcoholic. Could be sweeter and more roasty, but still okay.

Bottle: Reddish-amber to copper coloured, relatively stable fluffy off-white head, moderate sweet-fruity (the usual suspects) and caramelly nose, distinctive nutty traces included; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, only medium bodied; traces of alcohol in the sweet caramelly-fruity finish, followed by some bitterness in the aftertaste. O.K., but not the finest Doppelbock.....
