Bourbon barrel aged stout with coffee added, conditioned on coconut.
Around the brewery, we listen to a lot of reggae, drink a fair share of coffee, and are devoted to our barrel aging program. In 2015, we had a one off imperial stout aging in barrels for close to a year. These barrels had a rich chocolate/vanilla character, but needed a boost. Stauf’s Coffee Roasters, of Columbus Ohio, nailed the perfect roast on some authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, to compliment the barrel aged stout. Champion Ground was born! The Illustration on the label is of Charlie Ace’s Swing-a-ling mobile record shack which was notorious for broadcasting the “Champion Sound!” This version does it with fresh grounds, coconut, and good vibes all around!

Dark roasted and sweet malty with notes of chocolate and caramel, nice silky mouthfeel, full bodied, coconut and bourbon coalesce into the finish. Gorgeous.

Dark sweet malty with lots of grey coffee roast, cocoa and brown sugar, caramel, full bodied, bourbon and vanilla washing through into the finish. Beautiful.

[ As Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Champion Ground - Coconut ].
ABV: 12.9%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, dark malt, coconut, bourbon, dark fruit, chocolate - vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, coconut, bourbon, barrel, dark fruit, chocolate, dark malt, roasted, coffee, chocolate - vanilla. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy to oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20211021]

Bottled 375ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Black coloured, small brownish head, coconut and light coffee in the nose. Light roasted malt, dominant coconut, ground coffee, some chocolate and alcohol i the finish. Aroma is quite nice but the taste is wonderful. 27€ bottle

Bottle shared by E. Dark brown with small brown head. Roasted coffee, some dark chocolate, coconut. Quite earthy. Coconut turns into sunscreen as it warms. Good when cold, drain pour when room temp.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 16/07/22. Black with a moderate tan covering that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, coffee grinds, light black peppery spice, charr, ashen tones, chocolate. Taste comprises roast malts, coffee bean, chocolate and coffee cup cakes, toffee fudge, mellow barrel notes, brown sugar melt, dried fruit rinds, coconut shavings. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Solid stuff.

Panda in an Aires outside bordeaux. Thanks to Wingman for this one. An oily mahogany brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is intense, spicy coffee, coconut, brown sugars, maple, boozy raisin wood. Flavour is composed of big sticky brown sugars, maple, coconut, chocolate, praline, so intense lovely stuff. Lovely. Palate is medium sweet, oikyz mellow carbonation.
