Barrel Aged Stout - Bourbon and Rum | Selection Limited Edition
A 13,5% Imperial Stout that has been aged in oak barrels for over a year to give it a strong character. This is a really strong stout - full, thick and dark with notes of chocolate and vanilla that got its character from the barrels former content.
In our Selection series we will release great beer that has range, depth and complexity. Beer that stands out with its quality and has the purpose to be enjoyed slowly.

Bottle from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Thick and sticky, great barrel aging with lots of bourbon, chocolate, roast, caramel, picking up some rum. Lightly boozy, medium sweet, some bitterness. Full and rich, wow proper barrel aging.

Bottle. Black. Very sweet sugary malts and figs with soft licorice. Huge bourbon and some rum. Lots of alcohol and sugar, soft roasted notes and light spices. Very sweet, medium bitter. Not bad, but super sweet and boozy and needs to be shared.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is liquorice, some toffee and mild alcohol tones with some slight wood too. Flavour is fruity, some chocolaty, syrupy, some alcohol and mild spicy tones. A bit burning, but nicely barrel tones too in the aftertaste.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, brown head. Aroma of raisiny rum and play dough. Very sweet with full body sticky mouthfeel. Heavy on syrup, notes of play dough, lots of rum. Caramel and syrup dominates. Mildy warming finish.

ABV: 13.5%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy - creamy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, barrel - wood, bourbon - barrel, sweet alcohol - rum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, vanilla, alcoho - sweet alcohol, rum, bourbon, barrel - bourbon, chocolate, cocoa, licorice touch, boozy. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20221028]

330ml bottle. Thick, roasty and sweet with some syrupy notes, licorice, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, stingy rum, coffee, chocolate and prunes. Quite complex and balanced.
