Van tap bij Der Andechser im Ratskeller in Wiesbaden. Caramel, hazelnoot, röstmalzen, niet zo zoet, bittertonen. Goede balans. (18-9-2021).

500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous-beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel and dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of treacle. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel and dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, hints of treacle, a minimally nutty touch, weak, minimally grassy hoppy counterpart. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, still mildly prickly carbonation. Harmonious and balanced, maybe a bit monotonous - decent.

In der Nase herrlich malzig, Schokolade, setzt sich im Trunk fort. Süffig, kernig, leicht süß, mittig bis hinten nochmal Röstmalz, sehr lecker.

Bottle from the brewery. Crystal clear brown with a moderate head, lightly nutty caramel nose. Very sweet brown sugar and caramel on the tongue, low carbonation, very mild bitterness leaving it tending towards the sweet side of the force. Not too complex, but tasty.

As a dunkel should be. Malty but light body, heavy for a lager though. But crisp and clean. Easy drinking dark beer on a hot day. Edeka hamburg

Bottle at home from HOTM, 6th February 2021. Pours a chestnut brown, big rising white head. Aroma is caramel, molasses, dark malts and yeast. Taste is yeast, caramel, dark malts. Tasty and refreshing with a good depth to it and not too watery

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut Kleve. Clear mahogany with a big beige head. Bready caramel aroma with some roasted malts. Taste is bittersweet with a metallic note. Good depth of flavour.
