On tap @7Stern in Vienna. Cloudy amber color, minimal foam. Nose is roughly roast, something off I can’t describe. Mouth is sweet, sugary, not clean.

Full Body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of plums, sweet, peppery, hints of bread, light spices. finishes medium sweet with notes of plums and spices. Not a Fan, too sweet.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark orange with off-white head. Caramel malty, sweet, bread, some fruity notes. Nothing special.

Amber-orange color with white head. Aroma is caramel malts, fruit cake, jam. Taste is jam, maybe apricots, bananas, smooth mouthfeel. Not bad!

On Tap at the brewbub. Leicht trübes dunkel orange goldenes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch süß malzig, Karamell, getreidig. Geschmack getreidig malzig, süß, kaum hopfig, Karamell, Schwach alkoholisch.

Im Winter kommt der Weihnachtsbock, ist ja klar -wer denn sonst? Und das Tier auf dem Etikett bzw. Zapfhahn hat natürlich eine rot-weiße Zipfelmütze auf. Auch bei diesem Bock treten die fruchtigen Aromen voll auf - diesmal in einer beerig-rumtopfigen Richtung. Nicht übel, aber auch etwas brutal. Aber dafür voll im Mund. Als Einstimmung auf den Weihnachtsabend oder zwischendurch zur Adventzeit finde ich es wirklich gut, aber ich werde wohl eher bei den Klassikern des Hauses bleiben.

Bottle from the automat at 7 Stern Bräu. Orange hazy and a bit sparkling body with medium white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, bread and yeast. Taste is sweet, caramel, slightly roasted, bread, dark fruits, banana, some spices and finishes alcohol warming, with a subtle bitterness. Medium body, with oily texture and slightly astringent. Not very complex or unique, but still quaffable and definitely one of the better dark Bock beers from Austria.

Bottle 500ml. @ ChrisO Snow Tasting.ABV: 6.2%. Clear medium amber - orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, malt sour, sugary, soured milk notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sugary malt, sour. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130120]
