We are pleased to introduce Jester King Black Atrial! Black Atrial is Original Black Metal Imperial Stout refermented with six pounds per gallon of raspberries!
To make Black Atrial, we brewed a batch of Original Black Metal Imperial Stout. After primary fermentation with English ale yeast in a stainless steel tank, we added six pounds per gallon of raspberries. We sourced the raspberries from the same farm in Washington that grows our raspberries for Atrial Rubicite. We then let the raspberries re-ferment with the beer to dryness.
7.0% Blend #1 - June 2020
9.2% Blend #2 - October 2021

MBCC. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and raspberries. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 231021

Tap at MBCC 2021, Copenhagen. Color is very dark brown with small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Berries, raspberries, coffee.... Strange and weak.

Sexy bottle pours out black topped with a fizzy head. I thought zero chance I would like this one, normally not a fan of berries or cherries in a stout. But wow this was great. Nose is nice sweet raspberry jam with chocolate roast malts. Taste is more of the nice sweet berries chocolate roast combo totally worked. Very good.
