This dark, rich, and velvety stout is brewed with barley, oats, wheat, black malt, crystal malt, and East Kent Goldings hops. The malts contribute to a velvety smooth mouthfeel, a complex malt sweetness, and a dark roast coffee finish while the hops bring forward just the right amount of bitterness. The flavour and bitterness of the stout is rounded out by an elevated alcohol content which contributes a comforting warmth on the backend of your palate.

Near black, thin head. Chocolatey aroma, on the palate it’s a little slick but nice chocolate and mellow roast. Has a kiss of brown sugar.

Poured from 473mL can (from New District). Black with tan head. Roast, oats, mild dark chocolate. Quite nice, especially for Powell.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour, with beige compact head. It's off-dry, smooth, with big roast, dark chocolate, light salt; balanced.
Very good.

473mL can, pours black with a large, is cascading tan head. Aroma is hearty, with lots of oats, dry cocoa, and moderately roasted malt. Flavour is robust, with a very nice, deeply roasted malt base, hearty oats, some dark cocoa, and moderate sweetness to back. This is surprisingly deep and rich given the style and brewery. Clean, robust, and beautifully integrated. Impressive oatmeal stout.

Very nice jet black body and okay medium beige foam. Nice coffee on the nose with soft motor oil hints and vague cookie. Taste is bitter molasses, sweet coffee, chewy motor oil lingers. Really nice, thick and snappy in all the right places.
