Appearance: black in the pour and in the glass with no head and thus no lace
Aroma: carraway seed, ginger, dark roasted malts, black coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of orange zest
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to sweet quality; finishes strong with the carraway, ginger and dark roasted malts
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper; some smoothness but this one is extremely dry
Overall: I would have this again as long as I can get a ton of water after I drink it, boy oh boy is that a dry beer or what!

11.2 ounce can from Total Wine Brookfield, 8/27/23. Black, thin head, poor retention. Aroma of roast, raisin, chocolate, rye, whiskey, ginger. Taste is ginger, roast, whiskey, raisin, oak, soy, citrus. Slick, booze hidden well.

BD 20092021. Black, oily, small tan head. Smells good roast, light ginger, orange. Pretty high carbed, but smooth after. Taste is roasty, bit of sharp rye, plenty of caraway. Ginger is subtle, orange gives light fruityness. Not bad at all, bit weird.

Servida en schnifter, color marron oscuro, casi negro, con destellos rubí, opaca. Corona de espuma prácticamente nula, pero lo poco que hay es de color beige. Aroma a cacao, huele como una tableta de chocolate del 80%, café con leche, galleta maría, algo de licor, ciruela, "Frutas de Aragon" (frutas confitadas cubiertas de chocolate), guindas, naranja dulce y madura...En boca es densa, oleosa, sedosa, acaricia la lengua dejando sabor a cacao, ciruelas pasas, malta torrefacta...Que delicia. Me encanta

Bottle. Black. A tan head gathers reluctantly and dissipates rapidly. Aroma of spiced bread, oranges, mocha. A bit more stouty upon a sip but there's plenty of orange peel and spices. Fairly sweet - and a little India sweet-like - but the heat of ginger balances it nicely. Seems awfully strong for what it offers.
