Letošní sklizeň chmelu Kazbek nám vytřela zrak. Kazbek je hybridem mezi českým žatečákem, anglickým Northern Brewer a divokými chmely z ruské části Kavkazu. Tento chmel, jehož existence se datuje už od roku 1984, dal našemu ležáku krásné ovocné tóny citrusů a lesních plodů.
This year's harvest of Kazbek hops got us stunned. Kazbek is a hybrid between Czech Saaz, English Northern Brewer and wild hops from Russian part of Caucasian mountains. A hop that dates back to 1984 coined as the first Chech aroma hop provides our lager with elegant tones of citrus and forest berries.

Canned. Hazy amber body, white head. Grainy, perfumey aroma, flowery, herbal, funky touch. Grainy taste, bit medicinal, herbal, flowery, funky, light orange notes. Rough, funky, has its interesting aromatics, but as a whole, honestly, it doesn't work that well. Better as a case study for fresh hop Kazbek than as a beer, which is not thaat great. Ah, Zichovec lagers...
