We love West Coast IPAs. That’s why we keep trying out different ways to reinterpret the style.
But every now and then it’s worth stripping everything back and staying true to the style.
Do you know what we’re looking for?
We are looking for precious pine, citrusy resinous hop forward aromas with a lingering well-judged bitterness.
Taking on the world for better days.
Hops: Centennial, Amarillo and Simcoe

Riverside Beer Fest 22. From the teeny Theakstons cask it's been aged in with fruiy. One-off. Aroma had cinnamon and sweet cherries and molasses. Murky dark brown. No head. Light bitter. But as promised by the dude on the bar it has really taken on sweet vinous cherry notes. Underlying dark dough. Thick bodied. Oily. Long finish. Super cuddly but it's about 50% fruit in the cask.

Can from the Strait And Narrow. Lincoln. Slight opaque golden colour with a tick white head. Aroma and taste are malty pine and bittersweet grapefruit slightly bitter finish. Full body.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Beer No Evil. Pours lightly hazed deep golden orange with a frothy, mostly white head. Medium sweet with nice, rich piney hop character, some semi-ripe fruits, melon, orange, grass, lightly toasted malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Modest resinous hops to finish, some assertive floral notes, orange rind, further toasted malts. Really nails the throwback WC IPA style. Love it.
