Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. After conditioning in stainless steel, this beer waited patiently in port barrels for 8-12 months

Sample at the production facility during Jackie Oβs 13th Anniversary Extravaganza on 01/04/2019. Black pour with some brown around the edges and a medium light beige head that recedes quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of oak, roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of vinous oak, malt, roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is oaky with a dark fruit and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Sample at EBF. Dark black with a frothy tan head that persists. Rich chocolate coffee and caramel against some earthy hops all rapped up in a light jam like barrel. Fantastic beer.

4 oz. draft at EBF, Boston. Saturday Night session. The port barrel gives just the right about of plum, red grapes, subtle earth, subtle spice, mild alcohol warming without getting alcohol flavor. The stout base is nearly perfect. (as expected) More please!
