The Moorland Farmer’s always liked for a drop of Mr Hunt’s cider to be sent up each Summer. Mixing in the Blackcurrant crop, they’d warn against too much afore setting out anywhere, “Too much and tha’ll be befuddled as though ee’s been at the Pixie Juice!”

BIAB sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Red-purple colour, some pink-purple bubbles on top that dissipate away and aroma of blackcurrant, berries, mucky. Taste is sweet, blackcurrants, ribena, apple, formic hints, some tartness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry finish. Quite OK

30/7/2021. From BIAB at the Redoubt Beer Festival, Harwich. Pours clear dark red purple with a small bubbly off-white/pink head. Aroma of blackcurrant, mixed berries, apple and touch of cranberry juice. Medium plus sweetness, light tartness. Moderate body, oily sticky texture, soft to flat carbonation. Dry, sticky sweet blackcurrant finish.

500ml bottle. Deep purple with low carbonation. Aroma is dry apple juice, a little blackcurrant. Taste has dry apple juice throughout with a little blackcurrant on the finish.
