Double-malted white beer with 30% wheat malt. This « Grand Crû » type white beer has an alcohol content of 7%. Sweet orange peel, lemon and ginger are added in the final boiling stage and during the lagering process in the fermentation tanks. These ingredients lend a note of citrus and spice, whereas the ginger, evocative of lemongrass, leaves an intense and racy flavour. The beer is slightly peppery but develops an aftertaste of freshness. No wonder we have decided to propose this beer in winter.

Bottle. Amber beer with a big dark cream head. Tart and orange aroma with lemon. Tart/sour flavor with spice and citrus. Medium bodied. Spice and tartness/sourness lingers with light malt and light citrus.

750ml bottle shared by Travlr. Murky orange-tan, soapy off-white head, some oily patches. Smooth creamy palate. Vanilla tinged orange-liqueur tones. Honey mandarin orange notes. A little sour, not unlike a Saison. Very unique, delicate body, yet sort of intense edges.

Bottle provided by Travlr. Thanks! Poured a slightly hazy light-brownish color, small white head. Aroma is slightly tart fruit notes, a nice tart character. Solid flavor here. Liked the light funk in here.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow orange color, white edge head. Aroma of bright orange juice, lemon, lime. Taste is softly sour orange peel, other citrus. Nice.

Originally mislplaced in Winter Ale: Max’s Taphouse, Baltimore tap ($7.75): I am assuming that this is the beer I drank. It was called winter sour at the bar. I suppose the guy below me had the same thing. Anyway, it poured a brownish color. Had a woody, very fruity, and vinegar aroma. Light sourness, very light. Some peculiar maltiness. This rating maybe should be moved...
