Clear deep amber beer, small bubbly tan head that doesn't last long. Smooth palate, light and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thin malts, thin creamy caramel that isn't too sweet. The PX barrel is .. alright, coulda been bolder. It's a kinda damp and watered down PX but hey, it's still PX and brings it's rich dark sherry savoury vibe, just not as intensely delivered as it could have been. A little vanilla oak. The back end reveals a little of the quad base beer, ripe fruits and mild esters. Not bad but promised more.

Pours dark brown with no head to speak of. Aroma's of sweet fruit, peardrops, light wood/barrel. Retronasal the barrel is much more detectable but mainly sherry and wet wood), some sweetness. Flavour is moderate sweet and fairly bitter. Warming alcohol. Low carbonation. Above medium bodied. Rather bitter finish. Not bad, but not good either. Certainly not worth the cost.
