You know its blueberry beer as soon as you’re within aroma distance of the six-pack, much less the actual beer. The nose comes off slightly fake, too dead-on to be the result of purely natural adjuncts, with nothing resembling beer backing up the berry barrage. Tastes mild, never delving into the sweetness implied by the nose. Blueberries play up the finish more than the center of the beer, which is bland American wheat ale through and through. I’m not liking this beer, but it’s growing on me, as it refuses to become cloy as it warms. (8/08)

12 oz bottle as Kennebunkport Blueberry Wheat Ale from Trader Joes in Fairfax Va. Poured like a pale lager.Aroma was full of blueberry. Flavor is blueberry (though slightly "fake" tasting, like candy, but still good), wheat notes. It certainly hit my taste buds and satisfied my blueberry craving.

Bottle. Poured clear yellow with thin white head. Aroma of bread and blueberries. Flavour, light body, a little wheat, a lot of blueberries. Blueberries and some spice in the finish. Not a bad beer, but something didn’t quite gel.

Clear gold beer, not much of a head. Soft palate with a little carbonated nibble in the mid. Lagerish mild malt with a strong sweetish blueberry that tastes somewhat artificial. Sweet blueberry crisp finish. Not terrible - grows on you a bit.

Lots of fake flavors. Blueberries and other crap. Sickly, not interesting.

I was with my cousin who is from Topsham Maine home of this brewery at GABF so we made special point to come visit and try. The beer pours gold like a standard lager but huge nose of blueberries. taste is plent blueberry with wheatiness freshness. Not too bad of a blueberry beer in my opinion.

On Tap at the Holy Grail. Smells like fresh blueberries. First sip is of your standard crisp wheat ale, then finishes with a clean, fruity flavor. A nice fruit beer on a warm August night!

First beer from Maine for me, best enjoyed before November 2010 (notched on the side of the front label). Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a white head that disappears at average speed and no lacing to be found. On the other hand, a little coat tops the brew. Slow tiny-bubble carbonation with a thin watery mouthfeel. Big nose of blueberries with notes of the wheat. The wheat is more noticeable in the taste, and the blueberries are still there, but what is interesting is the rich honey that comes out in the aftertaste. A very nice fruit beer. Just wish they would not filter it.

Blueberry aroma, with feet and plastic tinges. Clear golden, no head. Well balanced blueberry and malt flavor. The blueberries don’t linger, leaving a nice maltiness behind. Plastic is present. Potential is there, but the beer has flaws.

actually a nice beer, gift from a friendly bartender in orlando’s millers alehouse. was surprised at the blueberry taste and aroma because it was on tap, nice flavor, refreshing and although i wouldnt do it again, not a huge fan of fruit beers, would be nice on a hot day after the beach.
