Bottled & Keg. A brooding, heavyweight stout, crammed with intense, deep-roast specialty malts. A recipe 8 months in the making with multiple edits before we were happy to proceed, in the end it was a delight to brew.

I shared a 33 cl bottle, vintage 2023, with Manxman friend, Frank, recently before dinner. It poured black as black can be followed by a moderate head of dark tan foam that receded slowly to a distinct ring around the glass. The smell was chocolate, scorched grain and booze. And the drink was bakers chocolate, burnt toast, a bit of brown sugar, alcohol and hay. There was smoothness in the sensation and a slight bitterness finishing. Quite tasty and appreciated.

2014 bottle. Creamy brown head on a mahogany coloured body. Roasted, liquorice, chocolate & bitter tastes with a huge boozy finish. Lost a bit of body but this aged very well.

Bottle shared @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino media, discretamente persistente. Al naso sentori di caffé, cioccolato, melassa, liquirizia. In bocca è rotonda e corposa, appagante, dolce all'attacco con finale amaro e caffettoso a bilanciare. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Ottima... 3 anni e non sentirli!

Bottle from Park Fever, Hither Green. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, burnt toast, smoke, caramel, hot fudge. Flavours of dark chocolate, smoke, heavy spice, soy sauce, coffee. Boozy mouthfeel almost medicinal. Lots of alcohol warmth down the gullet. Sweet spicy finish with a tinge of bitterness. Good stuff.

Bottle at my place thanks to Matt I think. Todd? Anyway, thanks. Pours a jet black hue with a small beige head. A big licorice and roast nose. Huge dark malts, licorice, some light ash, metallic roasted notes, a bit of char. Very smooth. Awesome beer. Rating number 9000! Quite a run it has been.
