Mild säuerlicher Antrunk, schnell vollmundig werdend. Rund, die Säure bleibt mild, dahinter eher wenig aromatisch. Gut. 12/11/10/10/12/11

Appearance is nice brown-orange appearance with nice head. Good amount of wood and wine in the aroma. A bit of bretts, fresh. Taste is fruity-refreshing with green apples (which I like very much) and with a slight sourness. Palate feeling is okay already. The funkiness is noticeable and nice but there could well be more. Not bad, certainly a nice thing that a brewery like Stiegl is making something like this. However, it’s not very good either, it’s utterly expensive and there are way better Sours out there. UPDATE: Tried again after a year, didn’t really improve.

Bottle from Stiegl Getränkeshop, Wien.
Dark red, hazy body, with a small, creamy, beige, slightly pink head.
Fresh, complex aroma of sour red fruits, vanilla, tart, dried fruits, wine, lots of barrel notes.
Taste with about the same fresh, sour, tart and fruity aromas, but less vanilla and barrel notes.
Medium to full mouthfeel, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes sour-fruity, tart, dry and slightly alcohol warming.
Very good! The nose is the highlight for me, where you get multiple impressions, from the beer before it was aged to a Sour ("Sonnenkönig") and after. Fresh and quite easy to drink, the ABV is well hidden. Overall very enjoyable, outstanding for Austrian means!
